LitJoyCrate is a book box subscription company! We offer several products:
- A monthly Young Adult book crate: this crate comes with 1 new-release YA book and 2-4 carefully curated and useful book-themed items! This crate is appropriate for a reader age 14 and older.
- A quarterly Middle Grade book crate: this crate comes with 1 new-release and 1 paperback Middle Grade book, a reader's guide to accompany the new-release book, and 2-4 book-themed fun interactive items! This crate is appropriate for a reader ages 8-13.
- A monthly Picture book crate: this crate comes with 1 new-release Picture book and 2-4 book-themed items that encourage early readers! This crate is appropriate for a reader ages 3-6
- We also offer one-time products for readers of all ages in our shop.
Each one of our crates is carefully curated to bring a book’s story to life! In each crate you will receive at least one new-release book and 2-4 book-themed items to accompany the book. Our goal is to include quality items that are useful and make your nerdy book-loving heart flutter :)!
Our goal is to create a reading experience that goes beyond the book. This is why we have created a company that not only sells books in our crates, but also includes exciting quality items that enhance the book! Many of these products are limited edition or specially created as exclusive items for our LitJoy crates!
Our crates cost $29.99 - $34.99 (plus shipping).
For monthly subscriptions, you can select one of three different plans:
- Month-to-month plans are $29.99 (plus shipping) and you are billed each month.
- 3-Month plans are discounted to $28.99 per month (plus shipping) and you prepay for the three months.
- 6-Month plans are discounted to $27.99 per month (plus shipping) and you prepay for the six months.
For quarterly subscriptions, you can select one of two different plans:
- 1 Quarter Pre Pay plans are $34.99 (plus shipping) and you are billed each quarter.
- 2 Quarter Pre Pay plans are discounted to $33.75 per quarter (plus shipping) and you are billed every 6 months.

Hooray! We can’t wait to get a crate in the mail to you! You can subscribe by going here. Please note that all subscription plans renew on the 1st of every month, however, you may cancel at any time.
All subscription crates ship on the 20th of each month. If the 20th falls on a weekend or a holiday, crates will be shipped on the following business day. For the December holiday season, we ship 10 days early to allow more shipping time.
LitJoy cannot guarantee delivery time of any crates. US orders are shipped via FirstMile. Most U.S. orders will arrive within 5-10 business days, however this is not a guaranteed shipping time frame. International orders are shipped via DHL International. Please note that shipping in some countries takes longer than others and there is no guaranteed arrival date with international orders as well.
LitJoy Crate is not responsible for shipping delays due to weather, couriers, or theft, however our customer service cares about your crate and we would be happy to address your concerns to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shipping costs reflect current shipping rates. We are currently working to lower shipping costs to a flat rate in 2017. Please stay tuned!

Of course! You can absolutely subscribe to multiple crates. However, if you would like the crates to ship to different addresses, you will need to process each order separately. You can subscribe by going here.
Do not fret! If you missed out on a current month’s crate, we will push your order to the next month and reserve a crate for you. For example, if you purchase a crate sometime between May 21st and June 20th but we are sold out of June’s crate, your order will be pushed back to receive a July crate.
Only people who are subscribed to a month-to-month plan have an option to skip a month. Simply log in to your account, locate your current subscription information on the left-hand side, and click the 'EDIT' button. On the next page, click the button that says 'Skip a Shipment'. This will show your old renewal date and your new renewal date. Confirm the change and you're good to go! Please note that you can only skip one month at a time.
For readers ages 0-2 we recommend the Board Book Crate. You can find this crate in our shop. For readers ages 3-6 we recommend our Picture Book Crate, which you can subscribe to here. For readers 8-13 we recommend a Middle Grader Crate found here. All readers 14+ will enjoy our Young Adult Crate. In fact, most customers who purchase our Young Adult Crate are between 20 and 30.
When you subscribe, you will be billed immediately for your first month’s subscription. After that, you will be billed on the 1st of the month for your next subscription cycle.
When you sign up to LitJoy Crate you will be charged immediately for the subscription model you have chosen (1, 3, or 6 months; or for quarterly: a 1 quarter or 2 quarter plan). Once your subscription cycle has ended, you will be automatically re-billed for the same cycle model until you decide to switch to a different plan or cancel your subscription.
- Month-to-month plans: You will be charged for one month.
- 3-Month plans: After you have received three LitJoy crates, you will be automatically renewed for another three months.
- 6-Month plans: After you have received six LitJoy crates, you will be automatically renewed for another six months.
*Renewals always take place on the first of every month.
We hate goodbyes! But we do have some options for you to put a pause on your subscription. You can skip a month! While logged in to your account, simply select ‘EDIT’ and then ‘SKIP A SHIPMENT’. We will skip your next shipment and you will not be charged.
Still interested in leaving? Simply log in to your account, select ‘EDIT’ on your active subscription, and then click ‘CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION’. If you have any questions regarding cancelling please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You need to cancel your subscription by the last day of the current month. Otherwise, you will be billed again on the 1st of the month and will receive that month's crate.

Because LitJoy Crate is a subscription box, we do not allow returns or substitutions of anything in your crate unless item(s) are damaged. If anything in your crate is damaged please contact email@example.com and we will we will either send you a replacement item or issue a refund for the damaged item. All refunds are issued in the original form of payment for all purchases. A third party carrier ships all products; as a result, title and risk of loss for any purchase will pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier, but we like you so chances are we can help you out :).
