Social Media Content Creator (TikTok), Remote but local to Utah

LitJoy Crate is a one-stop shop for book lovers that offers beautiful books and clever collections to inspire and connect people with fictional worlds. We are looking for a Social Media Content Creator to help with TikTok.

Position Description:

We are seeking a creative and talented TikTok Content Creator to join our bookish ecommerce business. As a TikTok Content Creator, you will be responsible for developing and executing engaging and innovative content strategies on the TikTok platform to promote our brand, products, and services. You will have a passion for books, literature, and storytelling, and the ability to create captivating and shareable TikTok videos that resonate with our target audience. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our social media presence, build a community of book lovers, and drive growth for our business.

This role reports to the Social Media Manager and works collaboratively with the other members of the Marketing department to create the most effective outcome for LitJoy as a company. You should have excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and be self-motivated and a team player. You should also be able to keep projects organized, be able to have a customer service mindset and meet deadlines.

Our ideal candidate will reside local around Salt Lake City or Lehi, Utah and must be able to pick up product at the LitJoy warehouse.

Compensation:

  • $15-17 / hour for 15-20 hours per week

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, and some weekends, 15-20 hours per week
  • This is a part-time position starting at 15-20 hours per week. You will have some flexibility in setting your own schedule when working on our social media platforms but will definitely need to participate in team meetings and be available to respond to any internal communication between the hours of 9am and 5pm MST, Monday – Friday.

Work Remotely:

  • Yes, but must be local to Utah in order to pick-up product from warehouse

Responsibilities:

  • Shoot, edit, and post TikTok videos using appropriate editing software and tools. Create original and captivating TikTok content that aligns with LitJoy’s brand voice, values, and target audience. 
  • Develop, execute, and optimize content strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and followers on TikTok. Utilize effective captions, hashtags, and descriptions.
  • Research and stay up-to-date with TikTok trends, challenges, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to brainstorm and plan TikTok campaigns and initiatives that align with business goals and promotional activities.
  • Support the Social Media Manager and Social Media Assistant with LitJoy’s other social accounts as-needed, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest, Youtube, and Goodreads.

Education, Experience, and Requirements:

  • Proven experience in creating and managing TikTok content for a brand, preferably in the bookish or ecommerce industry.
  • Strong understanding of the TikTok platform, its features, trends, and algorithm.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills and the ability to create visually appealing and engaging videos.
  • Proficiency in video editing software and tools, with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics.
  • Knowledge and passion for books, literature, and the bookish community.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey ideas effectively through short-form video content.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to embrace and experiment with new trends, challenges, and formats on TikTok.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Position Description:

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Assistant to join our bookish ecommerce business. As a Social Media Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the execution and development of our social media strategies to engage our audience, drive brand awareness, and promote our products. You will be responsible for managing our social media platforms, curating content, interacting with followers, monitoring trends, and analyzing performance metrics. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing company in the special edition book and book subscription industry and make a meaningful impact on our online presence.

  • Help manage and maintain our social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest, Youtube, and Goodreads.
  • Create compelling and visually appealing content for social media posts, ensuring consistent brand messaging and tone.
  • Schedule and publish social posts across various platforms using social media management tool Hootsuite.
  • Engage with followers, monitor user-generated content, and respond to comments, direct messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor social media trends, news, and bookish competitors to identify opportunities for content creation and engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute social media campaigns aligned with business goals and promotional activities.
  • Assist in moderating and engaging within our private Membership Community.

Education, Experience, and Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 1 year of social media marketing experience
  • Previous experience working with social media platforms for a business, preferably in the ecommerce or bookish/publishing industry.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, their features, and best practices for audience engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and compelling content.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in social media, particularly within the bookish and literary communities.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and basic image editing skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for books, reading, and literature.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
