LitJoy is Hiring a Social Media Manager. LitJoy Crate is a one-stop shop for book lovers that offers beautiful books and clever collections to inspire and connect people with fictional worlds. We are looking for a Social Media Lead to help with managing our social media platforms.



Position Description:


We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Lead to join our bookish ecommerce business and take our social media presence to the next level. As a Social Media Lead, you will play the leading role in development of our social media strategies to expand our audience, engage our current audience, drive brand awareness, and promote our products. 


You will be responsible for growing our social media platforms, creating and curating video/visual content, interacting with followers, monitoring social media trends, and analyzing performance metrics. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing company in the special edition book and book subscription industry and make a meaningful impact on our online presence.


This role reports to the Marketing Lead and manages Social Media Assistant personnel. You will work collaboratively with the other members of the Marketing department to create the most effective outcome for LitJoy as a company. You should have excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and be self-motivated and a team player. You should also be able to keep projects organized, be able to have a customer service mindset and meet deadlines.

$50,000/year

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, and some weekends, 40 hours per week

This is a full-time position starting at 40 hours per week. You will have some flexibility in setting your own schedule when working on our social media platforms but will definitely need to participate in team meetings and be available to respond to any internal communication between the hours of 9am and 5pm MST, Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities:

As a Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for the following:


Social Media Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the company's goals.

Content Planning

  • Plan and schedule content across various social media platforms, ensuring a consistent posting schedule.

Content Creation

  • Oversee the creation of engaging and visually appealing social media content, including graphics, videos, and written posts.

Audience Engagement

  • Monitor comments, messages, and mentions, responding to inquiries and engaging with the audience to build relationships.

Community Management

  • Foster and grow online communities, forums, or groups related to the company's niche.

Analytics

  • Monitor and analyze social media performance using analytics tools to optimize strategies and report on KPIs.

Trend and Platform Awareness

  • Stay updated on social media trends, platform updates, and algorithm changes to adapt strategies accordingly.

Competitor Analysis

  • Research and analyze competitors' social media strategies to identify opportunities for improvement.

Brand Voice and Guidelines

  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and ensure all content aligns with the brand guidelines.

Crisis Management

  • Develop a crisis management plan and respond to negative comments or PR issues professionally.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, content creation, and customer support, to ensure consistency in messaging.

Influencer Partnerships

  • Identify and collaborate with relevant influencers or brand ambassadors.

Hashtag and social SEO Research

  • Research and recommend relevant hashtags and keywords to improve post visibility.

Trend Research

  • Help research and report on trending topics or challenges that align with the brand.

Monitoring Alerts

  • Keep an eye on social media alerts and notify the lead of any urgent issues or trends.

Social Listening

  • Monitor conversations and mentions related to the brand to identify opportunities for engagement.


Education, Experience, and Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of social media marketing experience
  • Experience growing large accounts with over 100-150K followers is preferred
  • Previous experience working with social media platforms for a business, preferably in the ecommerce or bookish/publishing industry.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, their features, and best practices for audience engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and compelling content.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in social media, particularly within the bookish and literary communities.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and basic image editing skills.
  • Proficiency in video creation/editing through social media apps like TikTok and Instagram Reels.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for books, reading, and literature.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
